Position Overview

As a Tire Technician, you will maintain and repair all equipment and tires on company vehicles, as directed by your supervisor. You will also perform routine fleet checks and communicate any findings accordingly. In addition, you will also be responsible for washing the trucks and trailers.  

Responsibilities

  • Rotate tires to different positions of various automobiles, trucks, and equipment.
  • Repair and replace tires, tubes, rims, wheels, and other tire-related components of the vehicles; Includes mounting and dismounting using hand tools or machines, as needed.
  • Inspect rims, hubs, studs, and lug nuts for excessive wear, cracks, bead damage, tread condition, and other indications of improper wheel alignment or impending tire, wheel, and axle related failures.
  • Drive service trucks in order to perform road calls.
  • Clean trailer exterior and interior when necessary for repair work.
  • Steam clean parts for shop mechanics.

Qualifications

Minimum requirements:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Ability to obtain CDL within 90 days of hire; individual would be unable to use any equipment requiring a CDL until license is obtained.
  • Compliance with all company policies and procedures.
  • Authorization to work in the United States or the ability to obtain the same.

Preferred requirements:

  • Ability to lift, push, pull or carry objects.
  • Ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions.
  • Mechanical knowledge of machines and tools, including designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Previous experience repairing machines or systems within the tire industry, controlling operations of equipment or systems, and determining the type of tools and equipment needed to perform tire related jobs.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers.
