Position Overview

As a Maintenance Parks Clerk, you will order parts and tools as directed by management. In this role, you will receive store and organize parts and tools, maintain inventory, complete paperwork related to the procurement of parts and tools, maintain and organize tool lockers and parts room as directed by the Chief Engineer.

Responsibilities

In the role of Maintenance Clerk, you report directly to the Parts Manager. Running weekly reports, coding all invoices, spread sheeting various purchases. You will work closely with corporate finance in dealings with budget and inventory and working with fellow employees within the department on keeping track of inventory. Some OT and weekend work necessary for physical inventories.  Essential duties following; other duties may be assigned. 

 

  • Preferred experience utilizing a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to keep record of assets, schedule and track maintenance tasks and provide a historical record of work performed
  • Parts purchasing and tracking, receive shipments from vendors, checking vendor packing slips / invoices for accuracy and insuring quantities received are as stated; confer with suppliers regarding late deliveries; maintain appropriate records.
  • Directly issue parts received to open work orders or place parts in proper location within the parts room or other designated locations.
  • Conduct periodic physical inventory/cycle counts to assure proper availability of required stock and replenish stocks as shipments arrive.
  • Check parts for proper identification; contact vendors to obtain price quotes; prepare parts requisitions; obtain purchase orders from Purchasing Department
  • Coding of all maintenance and most warehouse invoices.
  • Warranty tracking and return of parts.
  • Operate a sit-down forklift to receive and put away parts
  • Proficiency with MS Excel, Access, Word, Power Point.

 

Work Environment: Work is performed in the stockroom, maintenance shops and office setting as well as other areas on campus where parts and supplies are stored.

Physical Demands: Work involves the regular and at times sustained performance of physical tasks such as walking, bending, stooping and lifting or carrying 20–50 pounds objects and occasionally objects 50 pounds or over.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED and two years of experience in parts counter work or any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the above listed knowledge, skills and abilities
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, also ability to compute rates and percent’s.
  • Basic knowledge of spread sheets and databases outlook and word a plus
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Compliance with all company policies and procedures
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and background check
