    Position Overview

    As a Retail Merchandiser, you are responsible for sales and merchandising, there is heavy emphasis on merchandising with some sales responsibilities.

    Responsibilities

    • Calling on assigned stores to make orders for those departments assigned to the employee 
    • Order product that must be in line with customers needs and inventory control
    • Stocking and merchandising ordered product in the employee’s assigned stores and departments
    • Selling displays and shippers by presenting promotions and deal to the customer
    • Building and putting up displays or shippers for which the employee is responsible including making sure that all displays and shippers are properly signed
    • Perform routine maintenance in assigned departments such as, cleaning shelves and soiled products, and fronting the departments on all stores calls
    • Ordering product requires the use of an order machine to record and transmit orders
    • Maintaining price changes and price tags in assigned accounts
    • Back stock must be kept to a minimum and maintained in an orderly fashion in the back room of the store
    • Record keeping accuracy in order writing, mileage reports, and other information as requested to be turned in on timely manner is required
    • Deadlines met for ordering and normal delivers and seasonal product
    • The workday will begin at 7:00am or earlier depending on the customer needs and will end when the employee has completed the responsibilities required for that day and particular customer
    • Develop relationships of trust and respect with the management in his assigned accounts
    • Independently maintain an assigned schedule
    • Responsible for checking in all Service orders and writing adjustments such as, a credit or charge to the customer if necessary for overlook ship items, shortages, or overages on product

    Qualifications

    • Good Communication Skills (verbal and written)
    • Ability to Travel (In and Out of town) as needed for business purposes
    • Valid Driver’s License and Valid Insurance with extended liability limits
    • Must maintain a clear driving record
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information
    • High School Diploma or equivalent

     

    Preferred:

    • Retail Experience as a grocery store stocker, assistant manager, or manager
    • Sales experience working for DSD vendor or broker
